The Annual Auxiliary Meeting was held on April 25, 2017. At that meeting the Executive Board awarded Shirley Witte the Lifetime Membership Award. (Shirley is pictured below with Volunteer Services Chair Marj Steever)
Shirley has been an active member of the Auxiliary for over 45 years. She served on the Auxiliary Board for several years, and was President from 1993-1995. Having been in the nursing profession, the Auxiliary has always been close to Shirley’s heart, and she feels it’s a great way for her to give back to the community.
Over the years Shirley has dedicated many hours to Auxiliary services and fundraisers including, managing the Hospital Gift Shop, Christmas gift shows, and coordinating past Hospital Galas. Shirley volunteers regularly at the Hearthstone for birthday parties, happy hours, and helps take the residents on Wal-Mart shopping trips. She has also helped with the shopping and wrapping of Christmas gifts for the Hearthstone residents, which is made possible through the Holiday Fare and Bake Sale.
Shirley is more than deserving of the Auxiliary Lifetime Membership Award, and we appreciate all that she has done for the Auxiliary over the years. As in any organization, it takes everyone working together to make it successful. Thank you, Shirley!
